We got the grant! Yes, a netball grant from the ANZ bank. So yippeee! It was because you viewed our movie and voted for our teams which helped make this all possible. The judges said that there were a number of quality entries but felt that we were deserving of a grant. So thank you for supporting our girls.
They will be sponsoring 10 sets of uniforms (skirt and top) for one team, bibs, a gear bag, 3 training balls and a match ball. This can cost up to $1000 so we're very happy and very grateful for this.
Our season begins in a couple of weeks time with the Years 6 - 8 teams competing on Tuesday evenings and our Years 1, 4 & 5 teams will be competing on Thursday evenings at the AMI Auckland Netball Centre. We can't wait for the season to begin!

If you watch the movie clip, you'll see that it was created to support our application for an 'ANZ Courtside Grant' to help us purchase new netball gear. We need uniforms for the new teams we've formed over the last couple of years and to replace the ones that we've had for almost 9 years because they're graciously falling apart.
Our beautiful girls love playing netball so please help them by voting on the ANZ website.
So click on this link first:
Then to register your vote, you need to click on 'vote' then login your details in the part where it says: Haven't joined yet? Join ANZ Courtside now>
Thank you so much if you have! If you're unable to, then feel free to come down and support the girls who play at the AMI Auckland Netball Courts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting next month until the end of August. Go girls go!

"This is the best last day of camp ever!!" Many excited Year 7 and 8 students couldn't help but say this as they looked on to one of their favourite NRL rugby league teams, the New Zealand Warriors.
At our local pool, Swimarama (Lagoon Leisure Pools) - the Warriors arrived to do some training at the pools. None of the children knew this was going to happen so it was a huge treat for the campers. This is how we typically wind up our 3 day camp where tents are pitched on our very own school fields and all events and activities are local.
Thanks to the Warriors for making this such a memorable camp for the Year 7 and 8 students of Pt England School.
Go the Warriors!

This movie was put together by Mrs Lagitupu, Miss King and their classes in 2011 as an entry to a movie competition in Wellington.
It's around the story of our successful Rugby Sevens team who won the national competition in Tauranga. It's all part of the journey to awesomeness!

Our Open Weight Rugby Sevens' Team won the Junior Rugby 7's Tournament that was played at the Avondale Racecourse fields on Monday the 11th of April, 2011. The event was organised by the Suburbs Rugby Union Club alongside the Auckland Rugby Union organisation.
Our Open Weight Team were undefeated in their pool section, beating De La Salle College and Kowhai Intermediate to make it through to the semi-finals. They faced Otahuhu Intermediate in the semi-finals and came away with a comfortable win. The grand final was against Kedgely Intermediate who were tough contenders but our team hung in there to win 12-10 in a thrilling grand final match. They played exceptionally well as a team which was the key to their success. We are so proud of them!
The team is now fundraising to play at the NZAIMS Intermediate National Sporting Championships in Tauranga. The 3-day competition will see them compete against the best Rugby 7's teams from around New Zealand.
